Capital Critter Sitters
Two capital cities, one great pet-sitting service!
Mary Hillebrand has been assisting Angie since fall 2001, and joined her as a partner in the business in the summer of 2002. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Mary worked for 11 years as a journalist in Washington before discovering the joys of pet care. Mary is currently in grad school training to teach middle school students, as she did briefly in D.C. Her experience walking packs of dogs proved invaluable when trying to figure out packs of 7th and 8th graders, so she plans to continue on dual career paths.
Meet the Madison team!
Since moving to Madison in the summer of 2013 to be near their families, Angie and Mary have been building the "Midwest branch" of Capital Critter Sitters, focusing on the Tenney-Lapham, Marquette-Williamson, Schenk-Atwood, Emerson and Maple Bluff neighborhoods. They have experience with many kinds of animals with varied needs and at different ages and stages of development. They also actively engage in basic pet training and handling techniques.
Capital Critter Sitters is fully insured, and references will happily be provided upon request. Just call or send us an e-mail!
Angie, Preston and Molly, all smiles!
Mary and six buddies
Angie Hickerson founded Capital Critter Sitters in 1996 in Washington, D.C., and has served hundreds of clients during her career. While earning her bachelor's degree at Monmouth College in Illinois, Angie worked part-time as a veterinarian's assistant, gaining valuable knowledge of animal health and behavior. After nine years in the U.S. military, departing as an Army captain, Angie tapped her lifelong love of animals to build a successful small business on Capitol Hill. In addition to hanging with animals, Angie enjoys running, bicycling, and spending time with Mary and their two great kids.
